The World Customs Organization and Interpol estimate that annual global trade in illegitimate goods was roughly $600 billion in 2004 and growing. And according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, counterfeiting, diversion and piracy cost the US economy between $200-$250 billion per year.
Our latest stock idea—Applied DNA Sciences (APDN) is well positioned to lead the world in protection against counterfeiting. And talk about a fascinating technology. The company actually uses the DNA of plants to mark and identify objects in a unique manner that essentially cannot be counterfeited. These objects can then be tested for the presence of “SigNature DNA” using either instant field detection or forensic authentication alternatives.
If this story sounds familiar…it should. We alerted members to this incredible company a little over a month ago and the stock surged 70% immediately following our alert on six times higher volume than its previous record volume day.
So why are we alerting members to this company once again? Well, since our initial alert the stock has had a healthy “pullback” period and has been quietly building strength again over the past couple weeks. Now the stock is now trading higher than when we first announced it.
We think APDN looks far from “over-bought” at the current price; in fact it looks like it is ready to make another breakout run higher. We want everyone to look at this one on Tuesday and see if the trend continues.
Look at these other amazing points on APDN ….

Just a few a days ago APDN announced it had successfully authenticated SigNature DNA on stolen bank notes received from the UK Police, assisting them in the prosecution of the alleged perpetrators. According to APDN’s CEO Dr. James Hayward, “DNA provides a forensic trail of evidence linking the criminal to the crime, and DNA authentication supports the enforcement programs of the various law enforcement groups,"
And check this out…. the bank notes recovered by the UK Police and submitted to APDN for forensic authentication appeared to have been WASHED MULTIPLE TIMES by the criminals using harsh chemicals, in an attempt to remove the dye that stained the cash during the robbery.
BUT…..SigNature DNA RESISTED REMOVAL AND WAS STILL READILY DETECTABLE using APDN's proprietary methods.
APDN can supply an UNLIMITED NUMBER of unique DNA codes enabling the unequivocal authentication of bank notes and other marked items. The same DNA markers detected on the recovered bank notes were also detected on personal items belonging to the suspects in the investigation.
And according to Tony Benson, Risk Director, Loomis UK, stated, "This is the first time SigNature DNA evidence has been presented to help prosecute and ultimately convict offenders in the UK. We hope this evidence will serve as a warning to other potential criminals that they will be successfully prosecuted if SigNature DNA is found on them." So how is the chart looking these days? Well….after a healthy pullback from its meteoric rise, we see many technical indicators suggesting members may want to consider revisiting this stock including…

And did we mention that just a couple of weeks ago APDN filed for a patent on its SigNature DNA in Cyanoacrylate which adds yet ANOTHER forensic layer of anti-counterfeit security? In fact, Cyanoacrylate adhesive compositions are widely used as quick setting, instant adhesives with a wide variety of commercial and industrial uses. SigNature DNA-cyanoacrylate can be applied to virtually any item surface or even absorbed into porous and semi-porous materials like ceramics, as well as non-porous materials like metal, glass and plastic. So get APDN back on your radar right away and make sure to research all the new articles.
With all this ADDITIONAL GREAT NEWS SINCE OUR LAST ALERT (and a healthy pullback in the stock), we think there may be no better time than now to revisit APDN.
